To The Victors Come The Spoilers: Part II

The next installment in this series came to my attention originally by way of Sean Hannity, who spoke with this young lady on the air as I was headed off to work one day. The offense is a little more indirect than in the last post in this series, but once again we see soldiers being pissed on by someone with no more guts than is necessary to throw verbal rocks from a distance---again, at a girl---and then tuck tail and run when the rocks get thrown back.

The young lady in question is named Rebecca Beach, a student at Warren County Community College in Washington, New Jersey and a member of the school's chapter of the Young America's Foundation, a national collegiate conservative group.

One day, she notified the faculty in a general email that a decorated soldier, Lt. Col. Scott Rutter, would be appearing in a speaking engagement at the college. The goal of the engagement would be to discuss and take questions about America's recent accomplishments in the current war against terrorism in Iraq.

Now, I haven't been able to find a copy of Rebecca's initial email to read it. But from what I have been given to understand, there was no hinting that anyone who doesn't come to see this is a traitor, or anything like that. Just a note telling people that there's a soldier coming to town, if anyone would like to come.

She wasn't expecting an answer....but she sure as hell got one.

Part-time English professor John Daly responded with this little gem of liberal tolerance, presented here in its gloriously unedited entirety:

Dear Rebecca:

I am asking my students to boycott your event. I am also going
to ask others to boycott it. Your literature and signs in the entrance lobby look like fascist propaganda and is extremely offensive. Your main poster "Communism killed 100,000,000" is not only untrue, but ignores the fact that CAPITALISM has killed many more and the evidence for that can be seen in the daily news papers. The U.S. government can fly to dominate the people of Iraq in
12 hours, yet it took them five days to assist the people devastated by huricane Katrina. Racism and profits were key to their priorities. Exxon, by the way, made $9 Billion in profits this last quarter--their highest proft margin ever. Thanks to the students of WCCC and other poor and working class people who are recruited to fight and die for EXXON and other corporations who earning megaprofits from their imperialist plunders. If you want to count the number of
deaths based on political systems, you can begin with the more than a million children who have died in Iraq from U.S.-imposed sanctions and war. Or the million African American people who died from lack of access to healthcare in the US over the last 10 years.

I will continue to expose your right-wing, anti-people politics until groups like your won't dare show their face on a college campus. Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on
their superiors and fight for just causes and for people's needs--such freedom fighters can be counted throughout American history and they certainly will be counted again.

Prof. John Daly

Strap yer hip-waders on, folks, 'cause here we go...
Your main poster "Communism killed 100,000,000" is not only untrue, but ignores the fact that CAPITALISM has killed many more and the evidence for that can be seen in the daily news papers.

Let's see, now....I can think of three names right off the bat. Let's do a little math:

Joseph Stalin -- approx. 20,000,000
Pol Pot -- approx. 2,000,000
Kim Jong Il -- approx. 2-3,000,000

Additionally, according to one R. J. Rummel, a professor of political science at the University of Hawaii, the figures for non-Stalinist Soviet deaths since 1917 account for about another 40,000,000.

So, thus far that's about 64- to 65,000,000 people killed by Communism.

Ah, but let us not forget Communist China. I was not able to find a lot of concrete info for this regime myself, in the short time that I have available, but once again Prof. Rummel steps up to the plate.
According to his research (and he has done a LOT of it --- check his References section if you're curious about his source material), the Communist government of the People's Republic of China is responsible for over 35,000,000 deaths all by itself.

So let's see...65,000,000 + 35,000,000 = 100,000,000.
Well, how about that...a liberal not having his facts straight. Who'da thunk it?

Oh, wait....I almost forgot about post-war Vietnam, in which there appear to have occurred an estimated 65,000 political executions between 1975 and 1983.

That's right. Post-war Vietnam. You know, the place that everyone on the American political left says Iraq is going to become if we don't pull out right now?
Never mind that those 65,000 killings happened AFTER the US pullout and the subsequent fall of Saigon. But you don't hear Murtha, Kennedy or Kerry mentioning this inconvenient little detail, do you?

Now let's look at capitalism's world death toll...
Hmm...can't seem to find references to this anywhere.
Any daily newspapers out there wanna help me out with this?

As for Exxon....hey, if you don't like paying two bucks a gallon, move to Copenhagen.

If you want to count the number of deaths based on political systems, you can begin with the more than a million children who have died in Iraq from U.S.-imposed sanctions and war.
Let's see now...you mean back during the UN oil-for-food program, where Saddam Hussein was using all that precious black gold to trade for food and medicine for his beloved people? Try again, Johnny-boy.

You get the idea. This guy, like so many of his fellow pontificators, is several Cliffs-Notes short of a full thesis.

Prof. Mike Adams of UNC-Wilmington also thinks he's not got much upstairs...but for an entirely different reason:

Some people reading the above diatribe will ask why a college would allow a professor to use such harsh language while addressing a student. But I disagree with any implication that Professor Daly had no right to say what he said so poorly. In fact, I would fight to the death to protect his right to very bad free speech. That is not because I am a principled person. I just enjoy watching liberals make asses out of themselves. To me, it is a cheap form of entertainment not unlike the CBS Evening News.
But the real question for Professor Daly and his boss follows: Why can’t English professors spell?

One final item on this one...After apparently getting logjammed with emails and questions from around the country, the WCCC leadership got together to discuss what to do with Daly.

Whereupon he acted in the typical fashion of a liberal when presented with a target that fires back...he cut and ran.

Thanks for the memories, John. You were good for a laugh.
